Hundreds of social movements and organizations demanded on Monday in Geneva (Switzerland) that countries commit and make substantial advances in the process of UN negotiations towards a binding treaty on transnational corporations and human rights violations.
The social groups, gathered in the Global Campaign to Reclaim Peoples Sovereignty, Dismantle Corporate Power and Stop Impunity, proposed elements to be included in the new Treaty.
This was done during a press conference and action at the Place des Nations, Geneva, across the street from the Palace of Nations, the headquarters of the United Nations Human Rights Council, where today, an Intergovernmental Working Group of said Council launched the third round of negotiations for the adoption of a new binding treaty.
