Impunity prevails with Transnational corporations (TNCs) that systematically violate human rights. We need an international treaty to ensure that communities affected by TNC crimes have access to justice.
In the Global Campaign to Reclaim Peoples Sovereignty, Dismantle Corporate Power and Stop Impunity we have always stressed the importance of focussing on holding transnational corporations accountable for human rights violations. The current draft proposal for the United Nations #BindingTreaty to hold transnational corporations accountable for human rights violations now also includes other (small/local) business.

This will be the fifth time we mobilise for the establishment of a United Nations (UN) treaty that imposes on states and corporations international obligations to guarantee that affected communities, groups and individuals whose human rights have been violated by transnational corporations have access to justice, reparation and remedy.
